Canadian Startup to Handle Ticketing for Mexican Bus Operator

Canadian online ticketing startup Betterez will take over the omnichannel reservation and ticket system of Mexican bus and ground travel company Grupo Senda, one of Mexico’s largest bus operators with destinations in the country’s northern half and the US.

In a statement, Betterez said it will handle digitalization duties for the Mexican company sales channels. “Our platform was built for automation and scalability which is tremendously beneficial to large companies globally. We’re proud to help Grupo Senda drive digital innovation in the market,” Tal Shalit, Betterez CEO, was quoted as saying.

Travel is one of Mexico’s largest e-commerce segments, with over 35% of Mexicans making a travel related purchase online in 2017, according to a study by the Internet Association.

“As more of its core passengers are purchasing tickets online and its US expansion continues, Grupo Senda selected Betterez to help them digitize more sales channels and get to know their customers better,” the statement read.

The new ticketing and reservation system should be ready by September 2019.
